About us


The Confraternity of Patients Kenya (COFPAK) is a registered non-profit organization as per the Laws of Kenya. We are oriented to a safe healthcare system and social well-being of the public in Kenya. We represent, safeguard and promote the interests of healthcare services seekers at all levels. COFPAK is a voluntary citizen’s organization and is ardently independent of political or religious persuasion.

 

COFPAK provides the platform to ensure that the patients have an active role to play in all the stages of healthcare that include planning, provision, monitoring, research and evaluation of health services.

Membership is free, but if you can afford to make a donation that would be greatly appreciated. By joining the COFPAK, you will be able to:

Speak up for patients and service seekers amidst the unrelenting sector challenges.

Help us campaign for health services to be designed and developed through partnerships between patients, the health service providers and policy makersHave your say about health and social care through surveys, focus groups, and working with the MoH, National and County Governments as well as other healthcare providers through us. We receive no government funding or grants, but with a growing membership, we have great influence.

Strategic objectives of COFPAK

  • Promote patient’s safety, safe healthcare practices and systems responsive to and centered on healthcare services seekers satisfaction.
  • Contribute to quality of care through research and sustained multi-sectoral partnerships
  • Promote the resolution of medical negligence incidences between the patients and the healthcare service provider(s).
  • Contribute to policies, guidelines, and legislative measures for delivery of healthcare in Kenya.
  • Contribute to the provision of advisory and legal support services to patients and their kin
  • Empower patients on their rights and roles to information at the healthcare facilities
  • Representation of the interests of the public into Boards, Commissions and Committees on health subjects.
  • Accelerate uptake of the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services in Kenya.
  • Contribute to institutional and public education on emerging issues in health.
